Lately, I've been listening to a lot of people going insane about the 2012 situation. That is, the Mayan calendar was stopping on Dec. 2012. There even is a movie about it now. The funny thing is that, not only was this information known many years ago, it happens to intrigue society as it is two years away from us. So back to my original point, how come it barely occurs to people to worry about this date if this has been known since the discovery of me Mayan calendar significance? Whatever the reason for this is, the truth is that it doesn't necessarily mean that the Earth is coming to an end on that year; what the calendar predicted was only the end of an ERA, what the meaning of that is is still to be acknowledged for future generations. And of course there are many who believe it is the end of the world, YES it is the easiest explanation it can be given.

Humans crave answers, and is that crave that drive us to seek knowledge ... the knowledge for the end. Since anything and everything starts at some poing, it also has to end. The yearning of people to explain that that cannot be explained has gotten the best of us, and lately, even more. What human beings need to realize is that not everything can be explaine but just simple reasoning, unfortunately, what's left to explain those things that neither science nor ancient records can is religion.

I say "unfortunately" because some folks take these scripts to heart and some of them are proven erroneous. Out of all the religions out there, only three have surpassed the tests of time and those three religions start off from the same point of departure and concentrate in the same geographical position. Cristianism, Judaism, and Islam have different description of how the end of the world will occur but the three of them lead to the same punishments. The only reason why there is an end to this world, according to religion (all around) is because of human indulgence. All those deadly sins, the evil that has been unleashed in society by means of hurting your brethren, terrorism against the infidels ... it's all because of human indulgence. If it weren't for all those feelings of fulfillment (either power, love, whatever comes to mind) punishments wouldn't be recquired because of the ambition of having more than the others that exist in most human beings.

so now ... does the Mayan calendar sound like it is the due date of the Earth? I don't think so. So all those illusions of the end of the world and the natural catastrophes etc etc yeah they might work on hollywood but gee if there is going to be a worldwide scare might as well just be true than just pure fiction
